Course Content
Our RYA Start Racing course will give your child the skills and confidence to take part in their first races. Through plenty of time on the water, fun games, and engaging activities, we’ll introduce the key techniques needed for competitive sailing. By the end of the course, they’ll understand race starts, tactics, and mark rounding, setting them up for an exciting journey in the world of racing!
The course begins with a refresher of key RYA Stage 3 skills, ensuring everyone is confident on the water. We’ll then dive into the Start Racing syllabus, focusing on race starts, tactics, and boat handling in a competitive setting. Over two exciting days, sailors will develop their racing skills through a mix of practical exercises and fun challenges, setting them up for future success on the racecourse!

What to Bring?
Please bring with you:
Appropriate clothing for the conditions ideally wetsuit and boots.
Swimming Towel.
Hat, Sunscreen (Summer) Gloves, Fleece hat (winter).
Lunch, water bottle and snacks. On weekend and late week courses the bar and restaurant will be open.
The club can provide buoyancy aids.
