Course Content
RYA Start Sailing Level 1: This course is perfect for a new sailor or sailor with a long gap from the sport. This learn to sail course will introduce you to the fundamentals of sailing. By the end of the course, you will understand sailing up, down, and across the wind, how to turn the boat, and how to stay safe on the water.
Our course will begin with a land simulator session, where you will understand the controls and how to move in the boat. Once we are all ready, we will head out onto Lymington River and take turns giving it a go, with an instructor supporting you from a safety boat. At RLymYC, we believe in trying to get everyone on the water. We have a wide range of craft and experience working with people from all walks of life. We will do our best to adapt the course for the individuals taking part dynamically.
