The RYA Sailing with Spinnakers course introduces using the third sail on the boat we call a Spinnaker. We use this sail to go faster on points of sail below a beam reach. This skill opens up possibilities on the boats you can sail and really suits people who want a little more from their sailing.

Course Content
The Spinnaker Course is designed to help you easily understand the skills needed to fly a Spinnaker. We will introduce flying, launching, and recovering the spinnaker, as well as rigging and spinnaker capsize recovery.
The main aim of this course is for you to gain confidence in the third sail on a boat and understand how it can help you get to your destinations quicker. It's a fun course, and you will gain a lot out of it.

What to Bring?
Please bring with you:
Appropriate clothing for the conditions ideally wetsuit and boots.
Swimming Towel.
Hat, Sunscreen (Summer) Gloves, Fleece hat (winter).
Lunch, water bottle and snacks. On weekend and late week courses the bar and restaurant will be open.
The club can provide buoyancy aids
